Session 10

Session Num: 10
Stakes: 400NL
Hands: 542
Net Win: $413

Concentration: 10/10 - espec considering hangover effects
Preplay Prep: 8/10 - hungover, but slept and drank to minimize effects
Avoiding RE: 7/10 - one hand in particular not really happy about (hand 3)
Cbetting strategy: 10/10 -
Game selection: 7/10 - sat at tables full of regs mostly, but I still see so much EV there

Actually felt like I ran pretty bad this session, so nice to come out with a win. Had some hands that I'm really happy with that wouldn't have happened had I not been concentrating tons... I'll come to those.

Hands:

Losers

Hand 1: http://www.pokerhand.org/?4574093 I think shoving the turn rather than small 3bet is close, but anyway the result would be the same. Definitely a run bad spot.

Hand 2: http://www.pokerhand.org/?4574100 Unfortunate turn, still had 35% equity, no getting away vs this villain and with the redraw.

Hand 3: http://www.pokerhand.org/?4574105 a real reverse equity spot where I should 100% fold turn vs this tight player. I'm getting owned on the river 100% either by a check back or a shove.

Winners (INTERESTING)

Hand 4: http://www.pokerhand.org/?4574113 Foil is a big monkey, and 5betting small rather than 5bet shoving gives him the opp to shove in A10, which I've seen him do, or do what I assume he actually did, which is flat 87os (lol). Think the shove vs him on any flop is mandatory given PSR of ~1.

Hand 5: http://www.pokerhand.org/?4574119 Really happy with this one. I spoke some blogs ago about how my standard bluff barrel of T1 boards doesn't work with some regs, they call down all day. The adjustment therefore is to barrel much lighter, and to get 3 streets of value here as a direct adjustment based on knowing Synodic's tendencies is a big win I think.

Hand 6: http://www.pokerhand.org/?4574123 Call flop/ lead turn is to me always a draw or some turned 2 pair/ set. Here the small turn bet size to me screamed draw, and even though I had only 2nd pair I loved my raise for value. Only regret is not making it bigger possibly, but I did NOT want to induce a shove given I couldn't be sure he'd do this with AQs here... (in his shoes to my small raise i 100% shove I think).

Time is 00:40, going to play session 11 now. Quick review of my 10 sessions so far since starting this blog, I'm up a total of $8262 in 5472 hands, which is obv pretty good going at 2-4. The thing is, I've got around 200k hands now at 2-4, with a ptbb/100 of 6.7.... given so much of the time my mental side has let me down, I acutally believe that when my head is screwed on as it is currently with this blog that my true winrate is around 10 ptbb/100. It's just how I feel when I'm concentrating like this.

Laugh if you like!

Dan
